Mike Theis, a Parisian artist, songwriter, and producer, is a key figure in the French and international alternative music scene, known for his originality and eclecticism in service of a constantly evolving artistic vision.
As the co-founder of the Yuk-Fü label alongside Thomas Lemoine, he notably produced the cult album
Lost in Movies by the band Diplomatic Shit (featuring Nicolas Ker), a cornerstone of Parisian underground culture. Yuk-Fü will celebrate its 35th release in 2025.
Among his many collaborations, highlights include working with Marc Zermati (Skydog Records) on iconic projects involving Iggy Pop, the 54 Nude Honeys, and the restoration of legendary recordings from the label (The Damned, Joe Strummer, Velvet Underground). He has also collaborated with Nicolas Ker (Poni Hoax), Maxime Delpierre, and Arnaud Roulin as part of the band PARIS. Together, they created the album "There Is a Storm", blending rock and dark atmospheres under the Ekleroshock label.
He has also supported the artist Koudlam, resulting in immersive live performances combining electronic music and visuals.
In 2024, his work with Tricky, a pioneer of trip-hop and founding member of Massive Attack, led to the album Fifteen Days under the name Theis Thaws. This critically acclaimed record on both sides of the Channel combines cold wave, minimalism, and electronic rhythms.
